VIDEO: Voices from Gaza welcome the Gaza Freedom March 21Oct09 October 24, 2009

About 5,000 activists from all over the world will gather in Cairo on December 27, 2009 to march to Gaza and then lead 50,000 Gazans in a mile long march to the Israeli border in an attempt to break the siege. 8 Australians have signed up to the Gaza Freedom March so far. Endorsements and details of the march can be found at: http://www.gazafreedommarch.org.

“The blockade of Gaza has brought death, destruction, pain and suffering to the people there.  The international community must not ignore their cries for help.” Former US President Jimmy Carter.  The Israeli stranglehold is denying 456,000 Gazan school children essential books, stationary, pencils, bags and clothing whilst the destruction of schools by Israeli bombs forces up to 55 children to share a class. 5,000 Gazans have no water and 50,000 have no tap water.  This situation is criminal and must be exposed and stopped.

In case it is thought that participants in the march are anti-semitic (the usual accusation by Zionists leveled against pro-Palestinians) readers should note the endorsement of the following organisations: Yesh G’vul, Shomer Shalom Institute for Jewish Nonviolence, Jews Against the Occupation, Sydney – Australia, Jewish Voice for a Just Peace – Austria, Jewish Voice for Peace, Jews Say No.
