Once again Michael Burd (letters 17/11) attempts to re-write history. Palestinians now live on less than 10% of their historical lands and Burd wants us to believe that the Palestinians are offering only words? The 6300km2 that the occupied Palestinian territories (West Bank, Gaza and East Jerusalem) encapsulate is the absolute minimum that will be required to create a viable Palestinian state. The refugee’s right of return, water and other matters are also critical to a final settlement, but if Israel cannot even withdraw from stolen land, then how can one accept that Israel’s intentions are genuine?
