The Israeli airforce launched two airstrikes on the northern Gaza town of Beit Lahiya overnight Wednesday, Palestinian sources said.

Director of ambulance and emergency services in Gaza, Muawiya Hassanein, said no injuries or damages were reported, though Israeli media quoted a Palestinian source as saying the strike lightly injured two.

The same source reported the strikes hit in the Jabaliya refugee camp. Citing the Israeli forces, Yedioth Ahronoth said the strikes were in retaliation for a projectile allegedly launched from Gaza on Wednesday. They said the target was a weapons cache.

The report was confirmed by an Israeli military spokeswoman, who said the strikes were “successful.” A military source also confirmed the strikes were in the Jabaliya area.
