I watched this documentary last night and was very moved by it.
It seems to me that a window in the wall,a real window, can give a place of contact,a touchstone for all to see the other side… The technology exists to do this and though many thoughts say to me that this is wrong, the wall is inhumane and counterproductive, the aparthied is wrong and counterproductive, the symbol that a window can become may make another small change that can lead to better things…
The documentary was indeed very moving. Beginning with different stories from either side of a cruel reality, the thread merges beautifully into a common cause: peace between Israelis and Palestinians. The documentary is a message of hope of a young generation that despite having paid a terrible price for the loss of their family members still believe in a possible change.
I was also deeply moved by this documentary and wonder whether it is possible to purchase it. As a teacher I believe it offers inspiration to young people that ordinary people can sometimes achieve more than all the politicians and bureaucrats in the world. I also believe that change can only come from within, not be imposed from outside. The courage and belief that change is possible despite the shocking conclusion to this documentary is what touched me so deeply.
