Anisa Hamood (SA) responds to “Bloodshed as Israeli special forces hit convoy, The Advertiser, 1Jun10 PUBLISHED June 1, 2010

Israel must be bought to account for the storming and killing of unarmed peace activists attempting to take urgently needed humanitarian aid to the people of Gaza.  Attacking peaceful people in international waters is an act of terrorism.  Israel has had strangling inhumane blockades on Gaza for the past four years.  It has banned the most basic food supplies, (including the likes of pasta), medical supplies and other essential humanitarian needs.  Palestinians have had to endure the use of contaminated water and insurmountable amounts of suffering because of this heartless, illegal blockade.

The flotilla was carrying medical supplies, electric-powered wheelchairs, prefabricated homes and water purifiers.  Essential needs for the Palestinian people in Gaza, who have been forced, to live in tents, placed on top of the rubble of their homes which were brutally, previously destroyed by Israel.
