Arab Parliamentarians enter Gaza to deliver supplies August 16, 2010

IMEMC -  15 August 2010

A convoy of Arab parliamentarians managed to cross into Gaza via the Rafah Border Terminal in order to deliver aid supplies estimated by 150 M. USD.

An official Algerian media source stated Friday that the supplies are all medical as food supplies will be sent to Gaza via the Al Oja terminal controlled by the Israeli Authorities.

The source added that the Egyptian Authorities vowed to study the possibility to allow the entry of all aid supplies sent by the Arab Parliament in the future via the Rafah Border Terminal; the supplies also include food.

In related news, an aid convoy will be leaving Algeria by the end of September to deliver school supplies to the Gaza Strip.

A third convoy will be heading to Gaza by the beginning of December in addition to other convoys that will be sent by several Arab countries.

Most of the convoys will focus on relief efforts and essential supplies, especially medical supplies and food.
