ADELAIDE: Launches of rolling protests against Seacret products with Tariq Ali 8Oct10 October 12, 2010

The Seacret protest last Friday evening at the Myer Centre was very successful.  We are seeking more volunteers for forthcoming protests that will be very similar in structure – a quick meeting near by before hand, then one hour standing near the Seacret kiosk in the Myer Centre or outside in the Mall handing out fliers and talking with passers by.  AFOPA Executive Committee members will be coordinating.

If you are interested in participating, please contact us as soon as possible with your contact details, including your mobile phone number. We will then notify you about the details of the protests, which will be held in the evenings and/or afternoons, depending on the day they are scheduled.  Please indicate your preferred times.

SEACRET BOYCOTT – We need YOU to volunteer!  JUST ONE HOUR OF YOUR TIME!

AFOPA is organizing a series of rolling protests in the Myer Centre in Adelaide
to raise awareness about the presence there of the Israeli cosmetic company, Seacret, which uses stolen Palestinian mineral resources from the Dead Sea to make its products.  Seacret uses Israeli citizens to sell its products here in Australia by setting up kiosks in major shopping centres and approaching passers by to purchase the products, never referring to the fact that the raw products from which they come are stolen or that such companies are benefitting through the continued brutal occupation of the Palestinian people.  Adelaideans may buy these products completely unaware of the context in which they are produced.  They need to find out about that!

We
need you to volunteer one hour of your time to join a small group of people near the Seacret kiosk in the Myer Centre to stage a silent protest.  T-shirts and placards and fliers will be provided.
