The Age: “Netanyahu seeks stronger Iran sanctions” by Jason Koutsoukis, 13 January 2011

When Israel’s Prime Minister Netanyahu reiterates that Israel will never
withdraw from east Jerusalem, nor return to the 1967 borders, nor allow
Palestinian refugees to return to what is now Israel one is left wondering
what is left to negotiate?

Since the Oslo accords the “peace process” has only resulted in more
annexation and colonisation of Palestinian land rather than liberation of
what little was left for a Palestinian state.

This has all been done in violation of Palestinian human rights and in open
defiance of international law and binding UN resolutions.

The four decades of Israel’s illegal occupation has resulted in apartheid
rather than self-determination for the Palestinians.

The only thing Netanyahu has to offer the Palestinians is limited autonomy -
not a sovereign state, in exchange for recognising Israel’s right to be a
Jewish state which can then legally discriminate against them as it already
does.
