Israel threatens to invade Lebanon again 16Feb11 February 17, 2011

Press TV -  16 February 2011
Israeli Defense Minister Ehud Barak says Israeli armed forces may cross into the southern Lebanese territory again and engage in a military confrontation with Hezbollah resistance fighters.

“Israel Defense Forces (IDF) may be called into Lebanon in the future,” Ha’aretz newspaper quoted Barak as saying on Tuesday during his first military tour with new IDF Chief Benny Gantz in the Granit brigade situated along the border with Lebanon.

“We must be prepared for every test,” Barak went on to say.

The Israeli minister also claimed that Israel inflicted heavy loss on Hezbollah during the 33-day war on Lebanon that killed about 1,200 Lebanese — most of them civilians.

According to 629-page Winograd Report, Hezbollah defeated Israeli forces in the war and Tel Aviv was compelled to withdraw without having achieved any of its objectives.

The Lebanese resistance movement has vowed to respond with determination to any potential Israel-launched warfare.

It has publicly announced that it has the capability to hit targets deep into Israel and to strike Israeli navy vessels even before they reach the Lebanese waters.
