Israel to prevent Freedom Flotilla 2 going to Gaza 13Apr11 April 14, 2011

The Palestine Telegraph -  13 April 2011

Israeli authorities are making great efforts to stop the movement of the Freedom Flotilla 2 which is expected to reach Gaza Strip by the end of this May.

Israeli sources told that Israeli ambassador in the Turkish capital of Ankara asked the Turkish foreign minister to prevent the ships from reaching their destination, claiming that residents of Gaza Strip are no longer suffering  from a humanitarian crisis as Israel keeps the crossings opened.

The Flotilla is carrying hundreds of peace activists and humanitarian supplies in an attempt to break the suffocated siege on Gaza Strip, especially after Israeli military offensive in 2009 that caused excessive devastation.

Sources added that Israel threatened the countries intended to participate in the convoy to repeat the attack which happened when Israeli forces violently confronted the first freedom flotilla.

Israeli forces assaulted the first Freedom Flotilla on 31st may, 2010 in an event described as a massacre, leaving nine Turks killed and dozens injured.
