Senior Israeli cabinet ministers and officials are set to celebrate this Wednesday the opening of a settlement complex planned to house 1,000 Jews in the Palestinian Ras al-Amud neighborhood situated on the Olive Mount in Jerusalem.
The extent of threat was determined after a crew from the Aqsa foundation made a ground visit to the site.
Construction is wide-ranging, and several stages have already been finalized, the foundation said, adding that Israel is planning to build more residential structures in a nearby area to be called Ma’ale David. The settlements will be linked by a bridge, according to the plan.
Images released by the settlement organizations behind the plan show that the complex would be connected to the Aqsa Mosque, the statement adds.
The foundation confirmed that calls have been made to the Israeli public to reside in the settlement because of its proximity to the Aqsa Mosque.
