“Israel seeks to invade West Bank” 26May11 May 27, 2011
âIsrael is already making plans to utilize this (PA-Hamas unity deal) in order to delegitimize the PA and all it is going to take to that point is some sort of false-flag attack,â Mark Glenn with Crescent & Cross Solidarity Movement told Press TV.
On April 27, the Palestinian factions, Hamas and Fatah, issued a statement of understanding in the Egyptian capital, Cairo, agreeing to set up a transitional unity government and hold elections.
âIsrael is going to have the case that she needs for a full-scale invasion of the West Bank, the way that she did against Gaza two years ago,â he pointed out.
Glenn argued that the new Israeli plan is aimed at âpushing the Palestinians out of the West Bank and creating this greater Israel that she has always strived for ever since her beginning.â
More than 1,400 Palestinians were killed during the three-week Israeli land, sea and air offensive in the Gaza Strip at the turn of 2009. The offensive also inflicted an estimated $1.6 billion in damages to the Gazan economy.
Hundreds of thousands of Palestinians have been expelled from their homeland to the West Bank and Gaza Strip as well as countries in the region and worldwide since the ruthless Israeli invasion and occupation of Palestine in 1948.
Consequently, the Israeli regime began a massive campaign to urge Jews from all over the world to immigrate to the occupied Palestine, which they referred to as “the Jewish state.” The effort offered Jews from other countries a variety of incentives, including housing in settlement areas seized from local Palestinians.
Thank You.
