The Age: “Israel and Palestine should draw on Tahrir Square for peace plan” by Thomas Friedman, 27 May 2011

Thomas Friedman (27/5/11) is clearly ignorant of the weekly non-violent demonstrations the Palestinians have sustained for years now in protest to the continuing colonisation of their land. They are joined by international solidarity activists, as well as Jewish Israeli activists, who rally for an end to the ongoing violation of Palestinian human rights by the state of Israel.

He is also clearly ignorant of the thousands of Palestinians and their supporters that recently marched peacefully from inside and outside to Israel’s “borders” in protest of the ongoing Nakba that has kept Palestinians in exile and denied them their inalienable right of return.

Twenty people were shot dead by the Israelis but that barely hit the media radar screen as media coverage of these non-violent uprisings are almost non-existent.
