Moammar Mashni (VIC) reponds to The Australian’s editorial on Tutu and BDS 11Jun11 PUBLISHED June 11, 2011

The Australian:  “Tutu is wrong on Israel boycott”, editorial, 8 June 2011

Your editorial completely distorts the realities of the Palestine/Israel conflict. Having lived under the apartheid regime in South Africa, and then experiencing the Israeli occupation and all its horror, Archbishop Tutu is undoubtedly qualified to make the symmetrical assertion that Israel practises apartheid.

Former Israeli prime ministers Ehud Olmert and Ehud Barak have themselves stated publicly that Israel is on the path to a South African-style apartheid. It’s a fact that there are more than 20 individual laws that discriminate between the Jewish and non-Jewish population, so the claim that there is equality is baseless.
