Pip Hinman (NSW) responds to Gerard Henderson’s “Jews know acceptance still has its exceptions” SMH 12Jul11 July 12, 2011

The Sydney Morning Herald: “Jews know acceptance still has its exceptions” by Gerard Henderson, 12 July 2011

Gerard Henderson’s denouncing of pro-Palestine protesters outside Max Brenner cafes in Melbourne and Sydney reveals desperation among the cheer squad for Zionism (SMH, “Jews know acceptance still has its exceptions”, July 12, 2011).

Criticism of Israel’s apartheid-like policy towards Palestine is not anti-Semitic as Henderson opines. But he’s right on this point: “The BDS protesters targeted the Max Brenner chocolate shop because its parent company does business in the Jewish state of Israel.”

The boycott, divestment and sanctions campaign is an ethical investment campaign initiated by Palestinians and supported by many prominent Israeli and non-Israeli Jews.
