Moammar Mashni (VIC) responds to Aldworth (FR Letters 27Sep) 6Oct11 October 6, 2011

The Australian Financial Review  – 28 September 2011

I’m not exactly sure how much more the Palestinians can actually concede so that Israel will end its illegal and brutal colonisation of Palestine.  According to Jason Aldworth (“Concessions only way out for Israel-Palestine peace, Letters, September 27), there is more to give and so in response I offer the very simple question: where?

Seventy-eight per cent of historic Palestine has already been taken.

Of the remaining 22 per cent, which is supposed to make up the “new” Palestine, almost half, yes hald, is swallowed up by illegal settlements, closed military areas, security zones and land annexed by a concrete monstrosity known as the apartheid wall.  Simple mathematics concludes that there is now barely one-tenth of the original Palestine left – and the Palestinians are still expected to concede more. Really?
