The Israeli military attacked participants at the weekly protest in Kafr Qaddoum village, near the northern West Bank city of Qalqilia. The march was organized by Fateh movement to protest the Israeli closure of the main street of the village .

The march started from the mosque of Omar Ibn Al-Khattab after the Friday prayers, with the participation of a hundred people under the slogan “ Empty Stomach Friday,“ to show support for the political prisoners who have been on a hunger strike for over two weeks. The participants carried banners with slogans of solidarity with the prisoners.

Murad Eshtewy, who is the spokesman for the territory and the media coordinator of Qalqilia, said, “The prisoners are not alone in their battle against the torturers. All segments of the Palestinian people stand with them to achieve their goals within the signed agreements, and to ensure their security and safety.“

When the nonviolent protesters arrived at the closed gate, dozens of Israeli soldiers fired teargas bombs and stun grenades at them, which led to many injuries and started a fire on land near the gate.
