The Australian: “Mitt Romney and Newt Gingrich slug it out” by Brad Norington, 12 December 2011

I refer to your item “Mitt Romney and Newt Gingrich slug it out”.

In particular the issue addressed in the last paragraph.

Romney was right to castigate Gingrich for his “incendiary” remark about Palestinians being an “invented people”.

I note that Gingrich also said during the debate that there was no Palestinian state because “it was part of the Ottoman Empire”. Maybe he forgets that Israel was also?
So was England part of the Roman Empire once.  And once American states were part of the British empire. And once there were no “states/countries” known as Kenya, Zambia, Syria, Lebanon etc etc……

But why would be surprised or shocked by Gingrich’s comments?

We have seen lies paraded as truth for many a decade. Especially regarding Palestinian’s historically based rights in the face of Zionist- Israeli invasions and occupations and invented rights based on man made myths.

Gingrich is just the latest of a long line of American spokespersons who seem to have taken George Orwell’s famous quote “ignorance is strength” as the standard to emulate.
