Israeli tanks open fire on Northern Gaza 20Jan12 January 20, 2012

On Thursday, the Israeli army fired several shells at farmlands in Beit Hanoun, in the northern part of the Gaza strip, the Palestinian news agency, Ma’an, reported.

Eyewitnesses said that Israeli tanks fired at farmland near the Agricultural College in Beit Hanoun, no injuries were reported.

In related news, two Palestinian youth were killed and another wounded in Beit Hanoun on Wednesday, after Israeli tanks and planes opened fire upon them.

Israeli forces also abducted two Palestinian residents near the Yasser Arafat International Airport on Thursday, in the southern part of the Gaza strip.

Local sources stated that the detained residents were identified as Akram al-Sofi and Ismae’l al-Sofi. They were transferred to undisclosed location.
