Director of Jerusalem community center arrested 21Jan12 January 21, 2012

JERUSALEM (Ma’an) — Israeli forces detained the director and several employees of Wadi Hilweh information center in the Jerusalem neighborhood of Silwan on Friday.

Jawad Siam, director of the center, and two employees, Ahmad Siam and Mahmoud Qaraeen, were arrested by Israeli forces while working in Jerusalem.

The reason for their arrest is unknown

Jawad Siam is a local community leader in the flash-point neighborhood of Silwan and has been regularly detained and questioned by Israeli forces in the past.
