AL-KHALIL, (PIC)– Israeli occupation forces (IOF) arrested Palestinian MP Abdul Jabar Fuqaha from his home in Ramallah at dawn Tuesday less than a year after his release, his wife said.
She said that the soldiers broke into their home before dawn and thoroughly searched it and confiscated her husbandâs work papers, a desktop, and the mobile phone of her son Mujahid.
She said that the soldiers handed a summons to her son, who is a university student, to appear at the intelligence office in Ofer next Sunday.
The soldiers told the MP sarcastically to prepare his clothes because Dr. Aziz Dweik, the parliament speaker, is waiting for him in the Ofer detention penitentiary.
Fuqaha was released from Israeli detention in February 2011 and has on aggregate served 4 years in Israeli jails.
The number of Palestinian lawmakers now held in Israeli detention has reached 26 including four in one week in addition to former Jerusalem minister Khaled Abu Arafa who was kidnapped from the Red Cross along with Jerusalemite MP Mohammed Totah on Monday.
Thank You.
