RAMALLAH, (PIC)– An Israeli military court extended the detention of 55-year-old Salwa Hassan from Al-Khalil on Friday despite her bad health condition.

Head of Mandela foundation and lawyer Buthaina Dakmak said in a press release after visiting Salwa that her health condition is very bad.

The lawyer said that Salwa suffers numerous health problems such as hypertension, rheumatism, calcium deficiency, and others, noting that the Israeli prison administration refuses to provide proper treatment for the detainee.

Dakmak said that Salwa attended 16 military court hearings and was denied release despite medical reports displaying her failing health condition and the impact of incarceration on her condition in light of the prison administration’s medical neglect.

The lawyer said that the court ignored the fact that Salwa was an old woman and that her condition necessitated constant medical attention and continued to renew her remand. She said that the Israeli military prosecution was demanding a 30-month sentence against Salwa.
