Gaza, (PIC)– The lawyer for the Prisoners’ Ministry confirmed that family visits to the prisoners from Gaza in occupation jails will start next week; by visiting Rimon prison on Wednesday, then Nafha prison on June 27, and finally Eichel prison on July 4th.

The lawyer revealed, during his meeting with the leader in the strike leadership committee Jamal al-Howar inside Nafha prison, that the visits of families from Gaza will begin next week, according to the Prison Service administration which allowed families from Gaza Strip to visit their detained relatives twice a month for 45 minutes for every visit.

The leader Howar, speaking about the prisons’ conditions, said: “the prisoners have not yet noticed any improvement in the living standards of the prisons. However, they hope that their demands will be met in the coming period. A meeting will be held this week with the Prison Service Administration to discuss some important issues relating to the captives”.

He stated that the release of the isolated prisoners from solitary confinement represents a great victory to the prisoners’ will. Regarding the detainee Dirar Abu Sissi, he said that they are working for ending his solitary confinement soon, adding that Prison Service’s claims about keeping him in isolation under the pretext that his trial will be secret is nonsense.

Howar also told the ministry’s lawyer that Nafha prison’s condition is good overall, adding: “However, the prisoners suffer from overcrowding problem because the Zionist prison service’s repairs in Ashkelon prison resulted in transferring a group of its prisoners to Nafha prison, in addition to the transfer of 50 other prisoners from Ramon prison”.
