Army bombards Rafah, five injured 19Jun12 June 19, 2012

The Israeli Air Force bombarded, late on Sunday evening, a blacksmith workshop in Rafah, in the southern part of the Gaza Strip, leading to extensive damage and at least five injuries, medical sources in Gaza reported. One of the wounded is a child.

The blacksmith workshop in located in Khirbit Al-Adas area, northeast Rafah; it was completely destroyed after being hit by two missiles while five civilians were injured. Palestinian medics and rescue teams rushed to the area for rescue and firefighting operations.

Dr. Adham Abu Salmiyya, spokesperson of the Medical and Emergency Services in Gaza, reported that the wounded child is in a moderate condition.

The attack came a few hours after the Israeli Air Force bombarded an area believed to be a training center for the Al-Qassam Brigades of Hamas, in Az-Zeitoun neighborhood, in Gaza City.

On Sunday night at midnight, the Israeli Navy attacked a Palestinian fishing boat, in Palestinian territorial waters in Gaza, and kidnapped four fishermen.

The soldiers first opened fire at the fishing boats forcing it to stop before the soldiers boarded the boat and kidnapped the four fishermen.

Two of the kidnapped are brothers identified as Ashraf and Mohammad Sa’dallah, in addition to Mahmoud Matar and Mohammad As-Soury; the Navy towed the boat to Ashdod Port.

The Israeli Navy repeatedly attacks Palestinian fishermen and their fishing boats in the coastal region; dozens of casualties and arrests were reported.
