Army breaks into PLC office in Salfit 28Jun12 June 28, 2012
IMEMCÂ -Â Â 27 June 2012
Israeli soldiers invaded, on Wednesday at dawn, the office of elected Hamas parliament members, in the West Bank district of Salfit. They also broke into the home of the head of the Palestinian Legislative Council (PLC) in Salfit, the Palestine News Network (PNN) reported.
The army searched the office and withdrew after confiscating several computers, in addition to confiscating the personal laptop of Ez âEd-Deen Fattash, head the PLC office.
The army informed Fattash that the office is closed by military order until further notice, and warned him that he will suffer the consequences should he re-open it.
The theft was carried out on the day of the scheduled release of elected legislator, Dr. Nasser Abdul-Jawad, who was kidnapped and imprisoned by the army on June 28, 2011.
The legislative office in Salfit denounced the Israeli military violations, and stated that the attack is an âact of embezzlementâ, and âan attempt to shackle Dr. Abdul-Jawad, on the same day of his release in order to prevent him from serving his peopleâ.
The legislators said that Israelâs violations will only lead to more steadfastness and determination among the Palestinians and their elected leaders, who will continue to resist the illegal Israeli occupation of Palestine.
Thank You.
