Army bombards Jabalia 31Oct12 October 31, 2012

IMEMC   -   30 October 2012

The Israeli Army fired, on Monday evening, two artillery shells targeting an area east of Jabalia city, in the northern part of the Gaza Strip; no casualties were reported.

The Quds Press news agency reported that the shells into an open land located east of Izbit Abed-Rabbo area, east of Jabalia, and that rescue teams arrived at the scene to search the area for potential casualties.

It is worth mentioning that the Israeli military carried out, on Sunday at night, several air strikes targeting different areas in the Gaza Strip, leading to property damage and at least one injury.

On Sunday at dawn, the army assassinated a fighter of the al-Qassam Brigades, the armed wing if the Hamas movement, in an air strike in Khan Younis, in the southern part of the Gaza Strip.

The attack was carried out despite a truce mediated by Egypt between Israel and resistance factions in Gaza; the truce came after Israel killed five Palestinians, and wounded several others, including civilians.

The resistance retaliated by firing a barrage of shells into the Western Negev and Beer Sheba (Be’er As-Sabe’), and also fired shells into Israeli military camps adjacent to the border with Gaza.
