Dr Vacy Vlazna (NSW) writes to Greens leader Christine Milne re her comments on Gaza 17Nov12 November 17, 2012
Leader of the Australian Greens Party
Dear Christine Milne
The Greens  statement on the present  Gaza tragedy is  disgusting.
Both sides put down their weapons??  Nuclear armaments of the 4th largest and most belligerent nuclear military power in the world versus  rockets fired  from besieged  and closed-in Gaza in defence of Israeli killings of Gaza over the past weeks?
It was Israel that breached the Egyptian mediated truce and is indiscriminately killing  trapped civilians.
It is Netanyahu  who has planned this offensive for months as a re-election strategy.
Australia should call for Gaza ceasefire immediately

The Australian Greens are deeply worried about the civilian death toll in Israel and Palestine, and urge both sides of the conflict to put down their weapons and respect a ceasefire.
“The human suffering is too great and the continued recourse to violence has done nothing for peace,” Australian Greens Leader, Senator Christine Milne, said.
“We support a two-state solution and urge the Government to support Palestine’s bid for a UN non-member statehood status.
“Now that we have a seat at the UN Security Council, Australia needs to step up to this role and take a more considered and independent position. Calling for a ‘de-escalation’ is not enough – a ceasefire is what is needed.”
Can’t you as a human being and as a mother imagine the  trauma to  Gazan children and parents who still suffer the trauma of the horrific 2008/9 war crimes of Operation Cast Lead?
Whatever happened to the gutsy principled morality of the Greens? It has dissipated under your watch!
Lest we forget the Greens  cowardly retreat on BDS in Marrickville
Little wonder the Greens are losing votes.
Get some moral backbone.
Thank You.
