REPORT: AFP’s “Run for Palestine” November 19, 2012

Over 600 people registered for our inaugural Run for Palestine event today Sunday 18 November 2012 around the “Tan” in Melbourne. We ran out of T-shirts, bibs and just had enough sausages to go round for the sausage sizzle afterwards. Despite an early downpour on waking up, the sun came out and shone brilliantly for the run with a light breeze to make it a perfect day. Medals were given out to the winners of the run, as well as certificates to all those who participated and everyone could take home one of our Palestine Fund money boxes. A big thank you to everyone who helped to make this day worth every effort, especially at a time when the Palestinians in Gaza are coming under savage attacks from Israel. It’s a big message to Israel – Palestine is not going to go away no matter how much you demonise its people. Support for Palestine is growing all over the world and we will make sure this run is repeated year after year until Palestine is free!
