TEL AVIV, Israel (Ma’an) — Turkey will deliver construction material to the Gaza Strip via Israel, the Israeli daily Maariv reported Monday.
Turkey will send building materials for a 150-bed hospital via the Kerem Shalom crossing on Israel’s border, Maariv said.
Israel tightly controls its border with the Gaza Strip, as well as maintaining a naval blockade. Previous Turkish aid convoys have entered Gaza via the Rafah crossing on Egypt’s border.
Israeli officials told Maariv that the Israeli government was facilitating the transfer of aid amid efforts to repair relations with Turkey, which deteriorated when Israeli forces killed nine Turkish activists on board a flotilla heading to Gaza.
Thank You.
