Lebanon camps to strike in solidarity with prisoners 27Feb13 February 27, 2013

Palestinian political leaders in Lebanon met at the PLO’s embassy in Beirut on Tuesday and announced that refugees would take part in solidarity activities at 11 a.m. on Thursday, including marches and sit-in protests outside UN headquarters in the Lebanese capital.
The strike action is to show solidarity with long term hunger strikers Samer Issawi, Ayman Sharawna, Tareq Qaadan, and Jafar Azzidine.
Palestinian faction leaders in Beirut condemned the death of Arafat Jadarat in Israeli custody and sent their condolences to his family.
Israel is responsible for his death, the faction leaders added.
There are over 400,000 Palestinian refugees registered with UNRWA in Lebanon and the fragile sectarian composition of Lebanese society makes their presence a sensitive issue.
Refugees in the country have long suffered discrimination and are deprived of basic rights.
Thank You.
