Israeli demolition of 55 homes in Nablus is both illegal and immoral, states human rights group 18Sep09 September 19, 2009
Palestine News Network (PNN)Â -Â 18 September 2009
The occupying Israeli administration is moving forward with the demolition of 55 houses in the Sawiya district of Nablus.
The Center for Human Rights and Democracy issued a statement of âgrave concernâ, saying that such destruction will open the door to more.
âThe Israeli decision constitutes a serious turning point in the development of Israeli attacks on Palestinian human rights,â the organization said today.
As the fate of the families of 55 houses looks grim, there remains some hope that the international community will impose the law and resolutions to prevent their displacement, particularly with winter around the corner.
Palestinian nonviolent resistance movements continue to demonstrate against home demolitions and confiscation.
At the same time the Israeli government refuses to temporarily freeze settlement construction, Palestinian homes are being destroyed, which the Center for Human Rights and Democracy said on Friday is a flagrant violation of all relevant international conventions and law, and is both illegal and immoral.
