19 Jul, MELBOURNE: Speak out for Palestine “Don’t buy Israeli Apartheid” July 10, 2013

Friday 19th July 2013

Bourke St Mall

Cnr Swanston and Bourke St,

Mebourne City.

On Friday 19 July, the Coalition Against Israeli Apartheid in Melbourne will be speaking out for Palestine in Bourke St Mall at 5.30pm.  We will be demanding justice and human rights for the Palestinian people and raising awareness about the Palestinian Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) campaign, which was initiated in 2005 by Palestinian civil society, including more than 171 Palestinian organisations, political parties, trade unions, associations, coalitions.

Inspired by the struggle of South Africans against apartheid, the Palestinian-initiated BDS campaign is conducted in the framework of international solidarity and resistance to injustice and oppression and calls for non-violent punitive measures to be maintained until Israel meets its obligation to recognise the Palestinian people’s inalienable right to self-determination and fully complies with international law.  For more information see: http://www.bdsmovement.net/

We invite you to join us and speakout for:

  • An end to Israel’s occupation of Palestinian and Arab lands
  • The dismantlement of Israel’s apartheid wall and an end to Israeli settlement building
  • An end to Israel’s siege of Gaza
  • Full equal rights for Palestinian citizens of Israel
  • The right of return for Palestinian refugees
