The Red Sea Jazz Festival is already underway, but Matt Schofield has canceled his participation, at the last minute. This makes it the second act to cancel the controversial festival, after only days ago Chris “Daddy” Dave and his band had cancelled. The cancellation, aside from the pretext claimed by festival management and Israeli media, follows weeks of campaigning by human rights activist all over the world, who have asked Schofield not to perform in a state-sponsored festival in Israel, as long as the local government practices policies of racism, occupation and apartheid.

You can thank Schofield on his official Facebook account at https://www.facebook.com/mattschofieldofficial
