israeli-prison-largeAn Israeli court in Jerusalem has sentenced Anaam Qalambo to seven months in prison and a suspended sentence of five months, on charges of participating in a peaceful demonstration against the Israeli occupation of Jerusalem.

The Israeli forces arrested the Jerusalem resident six months ago outside the Damascus Gate and subjected her to beatings. She is currently held at the Hasharon prison.

The Israeli army also arrested two brothers near the town of Beit Ummar, north of Hebron in the occupied West Bank. Mohammad Awad, from the Popular Committee against the Wall and Israeli Settlements in Beit Ummar, told Safa news that the Israeli forces had arrested Badr and Mohammed Ibrahim Ali Abu Marai, who are 17 and 13 years old, near the marble factory at the al Quds Street/Hebron Street intersection. Awad explained that “an Israeli military jeep arrested the younger brother as soon as he left the factory with his brother. The older brother protested the arrest of his younger brother so the soldiers arrested him as well.”
