“Congratulations to Dorothy Vasiliakis for noticing the obvious. Mr Obama’s backpedal will not help prevent further illegal construction in the occupied territories. This very week the Israeli Occupation Authority planned to commence construction of 105 new housing units for Jewish tenants near Jabul Al-Mukahir in occupied Jerusalem. What is even more concerning is his failure to follow through with investigations and other actions within the Security Council regarding the alleged war crimes and crimes against humanity committed during Israel’s attack on Gaza in Dec 08-Jan 09. Do we, as Australians think that we should turn our heads from what happened then? I am sure that the world’s tyrants and bullies won’t think twice before committing similar acts in the future if they think they also can get away with such behaviour.”
