We are delighted to advise of the Network 10 Premiere of the movie Tackling Peace – the inspirational story about the AFL Peace Team – screening nationally this weekend.  Narrated by Hugo Weaving, Tackling Peace is the inspirational story of 26 Israelis and Palestinians attempting to learn Australian Football together, to play on the same side in an international competition in the name of peace. Written, produced and directed by Marc Radomsky, Tackling Peace goes behind the scenes as these young men from different sides of a bloody political war set aside a lifetime of prejudice and hostility to compete on the same team in the Australian Football League’s International Cup. Few of the aspirant players had ever heard of the game and none imagined befriending teammates from across the political divide.  For more information about the film visit

I recorded ‘Tackling Peace’ yesterday and just watched it now. As an Australian Jewish woman, as a social worker, as a promoter of peace and harmony, as someone who has lived in Israel, and as a human being – I was truly inspired and glued to the tv. What an amazing journey for everyone involved and I hope the boys continue to remain friends and talk through all these issues together as people who are looking to live in peace and watch their children grow up.
A true inspiration.. and I cried begining to end.
Thank you to those involved for having the vision, and for having the courage and commitment to follow through.
